Weed Eater 12 Amp 215 MPH Electric Blower/Vac #EBV215

The Weed Eater 12-Amp electric blower/vacuum is ideal for cleaning up after mowing, or cleaning out the garage. Using the included vacuum kit you can also use the weed eater to pick up leaves and debris around the yard. This powerful, two-speed, electric blower produces up to 215 mph air velocity, while delivering 360 cfm air volume. The 16:1 mulching reduction reduces yard debris from 16 bags down to one.
Customer Review: Decent machine but loud, cumbersome
I bought this from Lowe's after reading the good reviews in Consumer Reports. I've had it for about two or three years and after only a few uses, the zipper on the vacuum bag broke. Zipper is very cheaply made. Converting the machine from a blower to a vac and vice versa is more difficult than it should be. It's loud, but they all are. If you use anything thicker than a 14 gauge power cord, you cannot utilize the cord holder on the machine and the cord will fall off the plug after a short time of use and the machine will of course cut off. So... you'll have to hold the cord and the machine with one hand. This is a pain in the a$$! It does blow/suck hard enough to move leaves like it supposed to and I guess if you are careful enough with the zipper and don't mind the aggravating conversion and power cord issue, then it's ok, at best. Once again, Consumer Reports missed the mark by highly recommending this. It's an average to below average product.
Customer Review: Don't buy this
I bought this item and immediately after the warranty expired, 2 years, the plastic developed two holes in the side of the plastic housing. The holes allow debris to exit and this debris can injur someone that is NOT wearing gloves. The unit was sucking up leaves when this ocurred. Sincerely

Worx TriVac WG500 12-Amp All-in-One Electric Blower/Mulcher/Vacuum

The WORX TriVac All-in-One Compact Blower/Mulcher/Vac has the versatility to change jobs with just the flip of a switch. Because there are no tubes to switch between tasks, you can blow away debris at 210 mph, then easily change to vacuuming dry leaves at up to 14 gallons per minute in seconds. The angled nose and comfortable handle make operation of the TriVac easy enough for any user. And with its powerful 12 amp motor, this tool makes an efficient, environmentally friendly alternative to gasoline-powered tools.

The TriVac's unique compact, lightweight design makes it more versatile and easier to handle than other blowers. View larger.

Change from blow to vac with a flip of the switch. View larger.

The angled nose makes it easy to clear low areas and to reach under decks and furniture. View larger.
Comfortable Design Makes For Light Work
ErgoSum Design Technology allows you to hold the TriVac with a natural, comfortable grip, and its light weight of just 8.4 pounds and wrap-around soft grip mean you can operate it with one arm. The compact size also makes it easy to store, and there are no extra tubes to lug around when taking care of your grounds.

Environmentally Friendly, Efficient Electric Motor
Because it runs on a 12 Amp electric motor, the TriVac makes a much more environmentally friendly choice than its gasoline-powered counterparts. The electric motor runs at about 70 decibels, significantly reducing noise pollution, and it has none of the emissions associated with gas-powered engines. The electric power still packs a punch: when used as a blower, the TriVac's air speed of 210 mph is strong enough to clear away wet leaves and other heavy debris. The adjustable air regulator allows you to reduce air flow when working around delicate plants and preventing dust ups. Flip the switch to vacuum mode, and turn mounds of dry leaves into mulch in minutes, perfect for compost piles or ground cover. The TriVac's 10 to 1 mulch ratio makes easy work of large jobs.

Innovative, Durable Design
The TriVac's innovative angled tube makes it easy to clear debris under cars, furniture, and equipment in your yard or garage. The collector bag empties quickly thanks to a quick-connect coupler, and it's constructed of breathable nylon fabric to keep the air flowing freely. Cleaning the TriVac is simple; just push a button to open the impeller housing to free any clogs. Its sturdy ABS plastic construction means you can put the TriVac through the rigors of everyday use for many seasons to come.

The WORX TriVac All-in-One Compact Blower/Mulcher/Vac is covered by a full two-year warranty.

Customer Review: bag broke after usihg 2 times/very poor customer service
After the second use the zipper on the bag broke. Contacting customer service has been a nightmare. They don't answer the phone and a machine asks you to leave a call back number, which they say they will return in 24-48 hours, never happened. Finally after 2 weeks I finally got a hold of someone. They would not provide me with a phone # that was not a 1-800 number or physical address for their company or let me talk to a supervisor (said they were all busy on other phone calls. They did consent to replace the bag, but I am not sure this is a good idea if their customer service stinks. Seriously considering returning the whole unit.
Customer Review: much better units out there
this product is a cool idea...a leaf blower that turns vacuum w/the flip of a switch. Problem is, it doesn't do it nearly as well as it could or should. First, the impeller is plastic. One errant rock or hard piece of bark sucked up in the vacuum, and expect your blades to chip. Mine chipped on the first use. Next, the bag is problematic. It's easy to click into place, but very difficult to dislodge. Mine just would not budge at all. No amount of force, or coaxing or balance could get the bag off. I have read other people have had the same problem. Finally, the design. The end of the unit is angled up. Which seems like a good idea until you use it. Because the motor is the heaviest feature, the unit naturally wants to tip backward in your hand--the opposite direction of the angle on the nozzle. It just means your hand/forearm gets tired a lot quicker. the power of the blower/vac is pretty decent. But that's about all I can say for this gadget. For the money, I expected better. A lot better. I sent this back, and bought a Toro Ultra for $20 less. It doesn't have that "one touch" toggling between blower and vac, but it does have a metal impeller, is simple to assemble and use, weighs less, mulches great, has variable speed and doesn't have nearly the "hang ups" that this unit has.

Customer Review: Great saw
This saw replaced a Craftsmen 12" tilt table band saw. I purchased the Woodcraft anniversary package. The American Woodworker did a very good article how to tune up a band saw, this is the best one you will ever read.(also FREE videos on their sight) Out of the box the wheels were not Coplanar, in the article they showed you how to use a straight edge to measure the tires co-planer. I measured the blades top and bottom to get them in the center of the tires, For me it was easier and I think more accurate them a straight edge. The article also explained how to shim the wheels to get this critical dimension perfect, The other problem that I had was slight movement with the riser block ( fore and aft movement of the top of the saw)and tires being copanar on each side, You measure the wheels top and bottom at 3 & 9 oclock to get them even and the blade centered in all four positions measureing the blade on the tire, I used a straight edge and marked all 4 sides top and bottom of the riser block and the lines extended on to the frame so you can see how much it moved, by loosing the riser block bolt slightly with the saw tension relaxed I was able to tap the top forward or aft to achieve a perfect allignment of the blade in relation to the top and bottom wheels. The table required shimming as did the guide post. I would imagine that most saws would need a good tune up to be able to preform at the top of there capability for accurate sawing. I also see that some have problems with setting the guides and a narrow blade. What you need is a Carter Stabilizer guide. It is one bearing with a groove in the center the back of the blade rides in that replaces the top bearings and you move the lower ones away from the blade, You set your blade tracking and tension, Move the stabelizer guide to the blade and pull it toward you 1/8 inch and tighten it down, you now can use up to 1/4 inch blade that will preform like a jig saw on speed, The guy at the wood show did resawing with it, (not recommended) to show just how good the stabelizer is. He was cutting out 3d reindeers ( like the Scroll saw guy) to show you why this is recommended for scrolling. I have had this saw over one year and while I have not used it as much as I would like, so far it has been one super machine. At the Wood Magazine web sight I made the resaw jig for the band saw ( make your own lumber)and cut 12" thick wood with a 1/2" blade with no problem. They have some very good FREE videos on the band saw at their sight. Hope this helps :>)
Customer Review: One of the best 14" Bandsaws
This 'little' bandsaw is perfect for home woodshop needs. I've installed both the riser block and the mobile base and both work very well. Previous reviewers of the riser mentioned issues; Powermatic apparently listens to customer feedback, everything goes together as it should. For more on Powermatic cust service, check my 3520B lathe review, they were very helpful. The bandsaw was relatively easy to put together, though I found truing the fence and fence rails to the table to be a lesson in patience. The riser block install would have gone much better with a second pair of hands, but not impossible by yourself. After about an hour and a half I was running some lumber through for test cuts. This may have been a bad idea as my dust collector arrived the following week. With the dust collector attached, only a small amount of wood dust escapes....without a dust collector you'll soon be standing in a sizeable pile. As with most power tools, the first thing that you should do, (after reading the manual and putting the thing together), is toss out the stock blade. It cuts, but it surely won't impress you. Then it's onto setting up the blade tension and guides. This is my first bandsaw and I have to say that everything was both simple and quick to do. The tracking knob and carter quick release are intuitive to use, (though the tension lever resides behind the blade guard in it's lowest,(release), setting. The ball bearing guides are mostly tool free, setting the distance to the blade, (left to right) is done with an allen wrench, again, pretty simple stuff. I've yet to try resawing up to the full 12" but 6-8" stock hasn't given me any problems, nor has it slowed or bogged down in the least. I'm rather pleased with my purchase and the mustard color is growing on me. If you're looking for most of the same features as well as 2 speeds and a about 300 less, check out the new Jet JWBS-14DXPRO. I bought my Powermatic before it came out, but it surely would have been a contender.

Toro 51585 Power Sweep 7 Amp 2-Speed Electric Blower

The Toro Power Sweep is the perfect blower for clearing leaves and debris from sidewalks, decks and driveways. This blower generates powerful air speed of 160 mph. It is very easy to use and is very lightweight - only 4.6 pounds. Covered by a 2-year full warranty.
Customer Review: Good blower, but could have been btter
The product came without a power cord. But it worked well. Felt like it could have had a higher rpm.
Customer Review: The Goldilocks of Leaf Blowers
I've had several electric leaf blowers. Most of them were fine for the yard and leaves, but if I wanted to quick sweep my garage/basement, they were so powerful that took all the dirty on the floor and just put into the air as dust, only to settle over everything. This is a small blower, 5 pounds, sounds like a hair dryer. But, on low speed it blows all of the leaves, dirt, dust, etc., out of my garage without raising a cloud of dust. On high, it makes easy work of the patio, porch, steps, drive and sidewalk. It also is good for scattered leaves and small branches from shrubbery. I would not tackle a yard full of hardwoods in the Autumn with this, I don't think the power is adequate. But to just grab this lightweight, efficient tool for weekly clean up after hedge trimming, cutting the yard, etc, it works fantastically. I recommend it.

Troy-Bilt Blower Attachment #TBTB (41AJTB-C954)

The add-on blower generates up to 145-mph of high velocity blowing for fast clearing of large areas. Includes a flare designed nozzle that is ideal for large areas and a concentrated design that is great for hard to reach places. The Click-Link shaft allows the user to add-on or take-off the attachment in seconds.
Customer Review: I LOVE IT!!!
I purchased one 4.5 years ago when it was called the "Turbo Blower." It has been great, but the Flare nozzle needs to be replaced due to HEAVILY ground scraping. You can get up to 145 mph wind speed! I can be at the begining of the driveway and the leaves blow all the way to the end! You will be very pleased with the preformance of the "Turbo Blower."
Customer Review: Ryobi Turbo Blower
I have had a Ryobi Turbo Blower for over 4 1/2 years now and it is still working great! It has survived a move from FL to TX. However the nozzles and bottom are wearing down due to HEAYILY ground scraping... I have loved having this blower much more than an electric one I had because there is no specific speed setting with an electric. With electric it is ON or OFF. No in between.

Customer Review: Resurrected from a landfill; works GREAT!
Without doubt, this is the most bizarre review I've ever written on any product because not only did I not purchase this leaf blower from Amazon -- I picked it up for free at the local landfill. Here's the story: A couple years ago I purchased a Poulan Pro BVM200LE and it ran perfectly until it's untimely death after what I consider to be moderate use. (Click above on the "See all my reviews" link and scroll down to my Poulan Pro review titled "Worked GREAT until it DIED.") I decided not to replace my dead Poulan with another Poulan, so thus began my search for the "perfect" leaf blower. After reading various reviews here, on other sites, and in some consumer magazines, I narrowed my choices to a couple of brands in the $165-200 range. I almost pulled the trigger on a purchase, but first I had to haul out a load of trash to the local landfill before closing time. That's where I spotted what appeared to be a leaf blower among other discarded items. The landfill regs clearly state "No Scavenging" but when the site manager looked away I made a quick dash, and dug out a Weed Eater FL1500LE leaf blower. Water was running out of the tube as I carried it to the van, so I wasn't too hopeful it would work. A closer look revealed a lot of corrosion on the few visible metal parts, so that told me my "prize" had probably been left outdoors for some time. After I got home and had some time to play with this thing, I gave it a once-over visual check. The exterior seemed to be okay -- no parts missing and no cracks in the plastic. There was even some gas in the tank. It took some effort to pull the cord even half-way, but then it wouldn't retract. I had to hit the plastic casing a few times to get the cord to retract. I tinkered with it a few more times, and finally got it to work more or less okay. Now it was time for the real test. I primed the bulb, set the choke & throttle, then pulled. It gave indications of wanting to live again. On the next pull, it started! So, I immediately went to work blowing off the driveway until the gas in the tank was gone. I put in fresh gas (mixture, of course) and continued blowing the driveway, shrub beds, etc. etc for at least a half-hour or more. It ran just fine. For the past several weeks, it continues to start and run just fine. Here is how this model Weed Eater compares with my Poulan Pro while it still worked: Flimsy construction. Comments here about the handle are accurate. It's a plastic handle bolted to the plastic housing and it feels like it'll break off at any time. The Poulan has a sturdy, rock-solid feel. Harder to pull start. Both the Weed Eater & Poulan start on either the first or second pull, but the Weed Eater takes more effort to pull. (Higher compression ratio maybe?) I could place the bottom edge of the Poulan on my knee and easily pull the cord to start it. Can't do that with this Weed Eater. It has to be held firmly on the ground with one hand on the handle, then pull the cord hard with the other hand. My wife could easily start the Poulan; it's very difficult for her to pull the Weed Eater cord. The Weed Eater is a lot louder than the Poulan. If you value your hearing, wear good ear plugs if you purchase/use this Weed Eater. Blowing power is about the same. This Weed Eater is rated to be 150 mph; the Poulan is rated at 205 mph. Frankly, I can't tell the difference. Now, I only use a leaf blower on hard surfaces: the driveway, sidewalk, shrub beds that have decorative rock on top, the roof and gutters. For this type of use, this Weed Eater has plenty of wind power. I don't blow leaves across the lawn -- raking is faster. My guess is that the Poulan would do better than the Weed Eater blowing leaves off a lawn. The Weed Eater has considerably more vibration than the Poulan when running at mid- to high speed. Since I have no idea how this Weed Eater FL1500LE ran when new, or why the previous owner tossed it in a landfill, the above comparisons may not be valid. However, considering I paid nothing for it, and it runs just fine even after apparently being left outdoors for some amount of time, then tossed on the junk heap, I think 4 stars is fair rating. If this one lasts for a couple of seasons, I might even consider buying a Weed Eater leaf blower.
Customer Review: Weedeater Featherlite is too quality to purchase - don't do it!
I only use this blower a few minutes a week, and within the first season of use the engine would sputter and die. It would do this at random and not restart until it completely cooled-off. Now the pull cord will not retract, so there is no way to start it. It's junk!

Except for the minor scratches on the bottom the reconditioned Ryobi ZR08510 and the generic box I would have thought it was new. Runs great, runs like a Ryobi!
